Goose Down is the electronic dance project of Los Angeles producer Micah Smith. His love for independent house, disco funk, boogie, and vaporwave absurdity shines through on this six-song EP 'Mind Rinse' out in October on his label Spatial Touch.

'Mind Rinse' was created in 2021. It's as much of an antidote to anxiety as one could muster during isolated times. Not necessarily an all-out dance floor killer, it's reflective and smooth yet deceptively upbeat. Micah employs refreshing faux-jazz sounds of early 90s pop while keeping a distinct foot in playful weirdo-futurism and watery psychedelia.

'Arrivals' kicks things off with a pulsing momentum poised against lush chords and hypnotic digital marimbas. Micah's go to synth, the JV1080 shines on 'Place up in Heaven (With U)' and 'Heatmap,' both wonderfully bleary hymns for a sun-scorched southern California.

Enter the surreal basement of 'Good Grease' and 'Rock Salt Grind' where anxious dreamscapes and lo-fi moodiness succumb to unrelenting 707 beats and more marimbas. The EP closes out with title track 'Mind Rinse,' an enchanting, fuzzy tune decorated by shifting atmospheres and a warped vocal line of existential curiosity.

Most songs feature musicians and members of Spatial Touch collective Joel Stanton and Tamir Rawlings who provide extra synth layers, chopped vocals, and warm textures to the EP. This release follows last year's 'Ladysmith' single and two EPs also on Spatial Touch. The album will be available digitally and on cassette. As an exclusive bonus, two hidden tracks are included with all bandcamp album purchases.
